While most smartphone manufacturers stick to conventional designs in 2026, RugOne is challenging the norm with its new Xsnap 7 Pro. Released under the Ulefone brand, which has a history of producing durable mobile devices, the Xsnap 7 Pro stands out by integrating a magnetic, removable camera unit that functions as an independent action camera.
Announced at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the nearly cubic camera module weighs just 39 grams. It supports video recording up to 2.7K resolution at 30 frames per second and includes 64GB of internal storage. On a single charge, the unit can operate for approximately 40 minutes. It transmits a live preview feed to the companion app within a 50-meter range and offers software utilities such as horizon locking, distortion correction, and a Freeframe mode that captures the entire sensor area for flexible vertical or horizontal cropping.
The camera is waterproof to a depth of five meters without additional casing. To enhance versatility, RugOne provides a magnetic pendant for body mounting and ensures compatibility with third-party accessories featuring universal mounts. Beyond the detachable lens, the phone itself features a 50-megapixel AI main camera with optical image stabilization and a 64-megapixel infrared night-vision camera equipped with IR LEDs for low-light wildlife photography.
As a smartphone, the Xsnap 7 Pro is built for toughness, holding IP68 and IP69K ratings. It can withstand submersion in two meters of water for 30 minutes and survive drops onto concrete from 1.5 meters. The device sports a 6.67-inch display with a peak brightness of 1,700 nits and a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor.
Early-bird pricing for the Xsnap 7 Pro will be available via Kickstarter starting September 7 at a discounted rate of 799 euros (approximately $930). General global sales will follow next month on Amazon and the RugOne online store for $999, available in Sand Dune and Classic Black finishes.
