GoPro CEO Reaffirms Camera Focus Amid $285 Million Starman Acquisition

Following the announcement of a $285 million acquisition by Starman earlier this week, GoPro CEO Nick Woodman has issued a letter to customers seeking to clarify the company’s strategic direction. In the correspondence, Woodman emphasized that manufacturing cameras remains the “core DNA” of GoPro.

The executive stated that the merger positions the company to further advance its content creation technology. Previously, in connection with the deal announcement, Woodman noted that GoPro would collaborate with Starman to address critical national security concerns involving cameras, optics, and AI infrastructure.

Notably, the letter did not reference Mark Fischbach, better known by his online persona Markiplier. The YouTuber had become GoPro’s largest individual shareholder prior to the completion of the acquisition.
