Modeled after the Indian Premier League, the six-team event returns to India this year, shifting from its 2024 venue in London to Bengaluru, a major technology hub. The tournament runs from September 5 to 13, concluding two days before the opening of the Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
While the format differs from a traditional world title match, the 20-minute rapid games provide a highly competitive alternative for fans seeking high-level chess action.
