On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced via social media that he has directed U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche to review findings from the Office of the Inspector General (IG). The report in question concluded that former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell did not commit any criminal offenses connected to renovations at the central bank.
Trump stated that he requested Blanche to study the document and issue a determination based on its contents. The move follows the release of the IG’s findings, which exonerated Powell of any legal misconduct regarding the facility upgrades.
