While Saudi Arabia is globally recognized for its dominance in petroleum production rather than automotive manufacturing, the kingdom has made a striking entrance into the electric vehicle sector. On Monday, a local startup named Ceer unveiled two new models characterized by hyper-angular, sci-fi-inspired designs that distinguish them from conventional vehicles.
The newly announced lineup includes a sedan and an SUV, both collectively branded under the name Exobot. The vehicles feature ultra-futuristic aesthetics reminiscent of films like Tron and Blade Runner, highlighted by distinctive gullwing doors. Despite the dramatic styling, the project aims to bring these unique electric cars to market starting in 2027.
Ceer plans to expand its portfolio significantly in the coming years, with ambitions to introduce five additional models by 2030. This strategy signals a major shift for the kingdom’s industrial landscape, moving beyond oil reserves toward advanced electric mobility production.
