Nvidia announced the launch of a new security platform on Monday aimed at controlling the behavior of artificial intelligence agents through safeguards implemented at both the software and hardware layers. The development comes amid a growing trend of major AI developers identifying instances where their autonomous agents have operated outside intended parameters.
The newly unveiled system is composed of two distinct components: OpenShell and Sentry. OpenShell is an open-source software solution designed to impose specific constraints on agent activities, limiting their scope of operation.
By addressing security at multiple levels, Nvidia aims to provide a more robust framework for managing the risks associated with increasingly autonomous AI systems as the industry continues to expand.
