At the recent Snapdragon Summit, Motorola introduced the Signature 27, an updated version of its existing premium handset. The most significant upgrade is the inclusion of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, making it one of the first devices to utilize the company’s latest system-on-chip technology.
Motorola has labeled the device as the most advanced smartphone the brand has ever produced. To manage heat output from the powerful hardware, the phone features an enhanced cooling system. Audio quality is also prioritized through Bang & Oufsen-tuned speakers, reflecting a newly announced multi-year partnership between the two audio technology firms.
Imaging capabilities see a major shift in the telephoto department, which has been upgraded from 50MP to 200MP. The primary shooter remains consistent with the previous model, retaining a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 sensor.
Software-wise, the Signature 27 launches with Android 17 and commits to seven years of operating system updates. It also integrates various AI tools powered by Google’s Gemini platform, including Omni for video generation and Lyria for music creation.
Details regarding display specifications and pricing have not yet been disclosed. While the previous Signature model ranged from $800 to $1,200 depending on the configuration, Motorola has only stated that the new device is expected to reach markets worldwide sometime in 2026.
Hope this doesn’t cost over a grand. My wallet is shaking already.
Bang & Olufsen tuning on a phone is a nice touch. Audio quality matters!
No price or screen specs yet? Feels like they are hiding the most important details.
200MP telephoto sounds amazing for zoom, but I wonder about the file sizes?
Seven years of updates? That is incredible. Most brands offer three at best.
