Dyson Debuts CameraJet: A Tech-Heavy Toothbrush and Water Flosser Combo

Dyson introduced its latest innovation at IFA 2026, marking a significant expansion into oral care with the CameraJet. This device merges a traditional toothbrush with an advanced water flosser, distinguished by its integration of optical technology. While the company displayed its full range of robot vacuums, haircare tools, and air purifiers, the CameraJet emerged as the standout announcement of the event.

During hands-on demonstrations using model dentures, the device’s “Gap Optical Targeting” system was highlighted. Utilizing a built-in camera that captures 28 images per second, the CameraJet identifies gaps between teeth and directs controlled water jets specifically to the gumline and crevices. This targeted approach allows for more efficient water usage compared to conventional water flossers, and the compact tank proved sufficient for multiple cleaning cycles without refilling during the demo.

The device offers adjustable modes, allowing users to brush, floss, or engage both functions simultaneously. A live feed from the 100,000-pixel camera is transmitted to a smartphone app, providing real-time visual feedback. Although the footage resembles medical imaging, Dyson noted its clarity despite the challenges of vibration and water exposure. The company also addressed privacy concerns, asserting that video data is processed locally on the user’s device and is not stored or transmitted externally.

Pricing positions the CameraJet significantly higher than leading competitors like Philips Sonicare or Oral-B IO, reflecting its dual functionality and advanced technology. Additionally, Dyson is promoting a ecosystem of proprietary replacement heads and non-foaming toothpaste, though third-party mouthwashes remain compatible. To support users prior to launch, Dyson has released extensive troubleshooting guides and tutorials, including instructions for travel mode, which prevents accidental activation during transit.
