Berlin — TCL is bringing its “AI Inspired Life” vision to IFA 2026, revealing a suite of display and connected home technologies that position artificial intelligence as a functional utility rather than a marketing novelty. The exhibition spans large-format Mini-LED televisions, smartphones, augmented reality glasses, and smart household appliances.
Through its NXTHOME initiative, the company aims to demonstrate how disparate devices can interact seamlessly in daily life. Stefan Streit, TCL Europe’s chief marketing officer, emphasized that the brand avoids implementing AI merely for the sake of innovation. “Our philosophy is… AI needs to solve a problem or needs to have a concrete purpose,” Streit told Euronews, noting that the company strives to address issues that were previously unsolvable.
One such application is TCL’s AI-driven air conditioning system, which reportedly cuts energy consumption by up to 37%. The technology monitors room conditions and adjusts temperature dynamically; for instance, it slightly raises the heat when it detects the user is in deep sleep, lowering energy waste while maintaining comfort.
In the television sector, TCL continues to leverage its in-house manufacturing capabilities to compete in the growing market for large-screen Mini-LED displays. Recognizing that screens are becoming ubiquitous across home devices, Streit argued that TCL’s background as a leading display manufacturer provides a strong foundation for expanding into broader connected home products.
Addressing concerns about digital overload, TCL also showcased its NXTPAPER technology for smartphones. This feature mimics e-reader functionality by filtering blue light to reduce eye strain, disabling notifications to minimize distractions, and extending battery life during reading sessions.
On the horizon of wearable tech, TCL unveiled augmented reality glasses that Streit jokingly dubbed “James Bond glasses.” The lightweight device projects information directly into the user’s natural field of view without obstructing vision, offering practical applications such as real-time translation and navigation.
A 37% energy cut from that AI AC sounds genuinely useful, not just a gimmick. Finally, tech that solves actual problems.
