A commercial aircraft operating on behalf of FlyDubai, traveling from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to Israel, was compelled to execute an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia following a reported physical altercation between its two pilots. The incident initially sparked fears of a potential hijacking after the plane transmitted distress signals.
According to reports, the flight was passing over Jordan when the crew members engaged in a fight, prompting the transmission of three separate emergency signals. One of these signals specifically indicated possible unlawful interference with the aircraft.
Israeli media outlets have since stated that the disturbance originated from a feud between the pilots rather than an external security threat. Despite the initial alarm regarding unauthorized interference, the situation was resolved, and the plane landed safely in Saudi Arabia.
