An Israeli minister has condemned what he termed a “terrorist” attack aimed at killing Israelis, following the emergency landing of a passenger flight in Saudi Arabia. The incident originated from a physical fight between the aircraft’s pilot and co-pilot, which initially raised concerns of a hijacking.
The Boeing 737 Max 8, carrying up to 180 passengers, was compelled to land at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia this morning. The crew transmitted three emergency signals during the flight, one of which indicated potential unlawful interference.
According to reports from Israeli media, dramatic accounts and video footage emerged from those on board. Some passengers described storming the cockpit to subdue the aggressor, with one pilot sustaining serious injuries during the confrontation.
Calling a pilot fight terrorism is pure hysteria. The minister needs to check his facts before spreading panic.
