Amazon Introduces Kindle Click Remote and Accessories to Enhance E-Reader Experience

Alongside its latest lineup of revamped e-readers, Amazon has announced a suite of new accessories designed to improve the reading experience. The highlight is the Kindle Click, a Bluetooth-enabled remote that allows users to navigate pages without touching the device screen.

The Kindle Click features a wrist strap for secure handling during travel, such as on airplanes. Users pair it with their Kindle via Bluetooth and press dedicated buttons to move forward or backward through pages. It is compatible with all currently available Kindle models as well as the new releases. Notably, the remote’s buttons are uniform in size, differing from the asymmetrical layout found on the similar remote Kobo released last year. The accessory is priced at $35, slightly more expensive than Kobo’s offering.

Amazon also introduced the Page-Turn-Cover, a case embedded with physical buttons. This accessory is exclusive to the newly launched Paperwhite and Colorsoft Signature Edition models, which feature pogo pins for magnetic attachment. Due to its specialized design and materials, the cover carries a premium price tag of $80.

Additionally, a wireless charging stand has been released for the Signature Edition devices. This stand recharges the e-reader through its pogo pins while elevating it for easier viewing. When used in conjunction with the Kindle Click, readers can keep their device in sight and turn pages hands-free.

All announced devices and accessories are available for pre-order immediately. The new Kindles and the accompanying accessories will begin shipping on October 28.

  1. Interesting that Kobo went asymmetrical while Amazon kept it uniform. Does the layout actually make a difference in use?

  2. Finally, a physical remote for e-readers? I need this for long flights where touching the screen feels impractical.
