Mojito Des Mottes and Edelak set for Plumpton showdown

Jumps racing from Plumpton takes center stage on Sunday’s Sky Sports Racing broadcast, headlined by a compelling contest between Mojito Des Mottes and Edelak.

The feature event sees Ben Pauling’s Mojito Des Mottes take on a stronger field after confirming his potential with an easy victory at Newton Abbot last month. The trainer believes the horse still has room for improvement as he continues to mature.

Opposing him is Dan Skelton’s Edelak, who has secured five hurdle wins this year. Coming off an impressive performance in handicap company at his most recent start, Edelak faces a step up in grade but remains a dangerous contender given the expected ground conditions.

Earlier in the card, Chris Gordon’s Nap Hand is noted for interest after recording his first handicap hurdle win at Perth. Gower Prince is considered the best of the remainder in that race.

In the 2:38 event, Premier Tenor is fancied to win his first hurdle race. Despite being slightly keen in his previous two starts, the Dan Skelton-trained runner is expected to handle the maiden hurdle conditions well under jockey Harry Skelton.

The Moore partnership also enters Padel Whacker and stablemate Raulin, while Arcturus Flame and Sangara complete the lineup for that race.

Another key maiden hurdle contest at 3:08 features Premier Fantasy, who is rated 100 following several close calls. Nick Scholfield has secured the services of Sean Bowen for the six-runner race over an extended two-and-a-half miles, believing the shorter trip could trigger his first victory.

Rhythm Of Life presents a strong threat, making his debut for Tom George and James King. The point-to-point winner previously showed ability while trained by Gordon Elliott in Ireland.

Elsewhere on the day, Galeforcechopper looks to replicate his success from a handicap debut at Plumpton at 2:08, while a Listed contest is scheduled at Strasbourg at 12:40.
