Former England Star Andros Townsend Escapes Injury After Near Miss with Pitch Roller in Thailand

A former England international, Andros Townsend, escaped serious injury on Saturday after being nearly struck by a motorized pitch roller during a Thai League 1 fixture. The 35-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur forward was warming up with his Prachuap teammates at half-time when the incident occurred.

While stepping out of the designated practice area to attempt a pass, Townsend failed to notice the ground maintenance machine approaching from behind. The roller was operated by a ground staff member, and Townsend managed to avoid a collision with the vehicle.

Following the scare, Townsend continued to feature briefly later in the match at Pattani. Reports indicate he suffered no significant injuries despite the close call.
