White House Offers Press Secretary Role to Trump Media Advisor Katie Zacharia

A White House official confirmed to CNBC that Katie Zacharia, a lawyer and conservative commentator currently with Trump Media & Technology Group, has been offered the position of press secretary. The official spoke on condition of anonymity ahead of the formal announcement.

Zacharia, who identifies as a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, has not yet publicly confirmed whether she has accepted the role. If she assumes the position, she will replace Karoline Leavitt, who departed the Trump administration in late August.

The New York Times initially reported the selection. According to her LinkedIn profile, Zacharia has served as a senior communications advisor for Trump Media since June. The company owns Truth Social, the social media platform favored by the president.

Her professional profile also indicates that she currently holds the role of general counsel at Fix California, a conservative activist organization established by Richard Grenell. Grenell serves as Trump’s special presidential envoy for special missions and previously led the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Previously, Zacharia worked as a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security for a two-month period that concluded in March. Additionally, an IMDb listing documents her numerous appearances on political talk shows across Fox News and other conservative media outlets.

  1. So she’s basically a conservative activist first and a government official second. Bold move by the White House.

  2. She’s barely been at DHS for two months. Do they really think that’s enough for press secretary?

  3. Another lawyer, another Trump Media tie. It really feels like his inner circle is shrinking to a specific group.

  4. Interesting choice. I wonder how she handles the intense scrutiny compared to Leavitt’s experience.
