USS Lincoln Returns to San Diego After Record 260-Day Deployment; Rubio Faces Questions on Diplomat Conduct

The USS Abraham Lincoln has arrived back at its home port in San Diego, concluding a deployment that set a new benchmark for the US Navy. The aircraft carrier spent more than 260 consecutive days at sea without making a single port call, marking the longest such continuous operation in naval history.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was compelled to address allegations of misconduct concerning Kimberly Guilfoyle, America’s ambassador to Greece. Following a significant diplomatic trip that featured a policy address before the Acropolis described as historic by US diplomats, Rubio confronted persistent rumors regarding improper behavior by his senior envoy in Athens.

“You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it’s the gospel. It’s not the gospel. It’s not the gospel for me. That’s not the way we do things,” Rubio stated. He declined to elaborate further, adding, “This is not the forum to address this, as simple as that. Suffice it to say, our embassy here is doing a great job. Our ambassador here has been a strong ambassador here.”

  1. San Diego is lucky to have the Lincoln back. I wonder if the crew actually gets any proper shore leave this time?

  2. Rubio’s deflection on Guilfoyle feels aggressive. Why won’t he just address the allegations head-on instead of dismissing them?

  3. 260 days without a port call is absolutely incredible. That is a massive achievement for the crew and Navy logistics.
