Taylor Swift made history on Sunday by becoming the most awarded artist in the annals of the MTV Video Music Awards. With her 31st victory, she surpassed previous record holder Beyoncé.
In addition to the milestone, Swift was honored with the inaugural Artist Director Award. She noted during the ceremony that she has personally written and directed 18 of her music videos.
The night also featured the world premiere of “Patient Zero,” a video that Swift directed herself and stars Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.
Records are just numbers at the end of the day. Her music speaks for itself regardless of awards.
Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson in her video sounds awesome. Can’t wait to see Patient Zero!
Wait, 18 videos directed by Taylor? I had no idea she was this hands-on with her visuals.
Beyoncé’s fans are definitely not happy about this! Unfair to compare their eras like that.
