The latest episode of “SNL U.K.” delivered another sharp satire of the British monarchy, centering on a contentious reunion between the senior and junior royal couples at the Sandringham Estate.
Acting as Meghan Markle, Ayoade Bamgboye shared nostalgic banter with Prince Harry, portrayed by Jack Shep. The couple recounted humorous anecdotes about King Charles’s past remarks, including inquiries about Meghan’s connection to Beyoncé and a crude joke directed at Harry. Harry then revealed a mysterious red envelope, prompting questions about who had summoned them.
Prince William, played by Freddie Meredith, and Kate Middleton, portrayed by Annabel Marlow, arrived moments later, also clutching identical red invitations. The siblings exchanged witty insults, with William dubbing Harry “Prince Ginger Pubes” and Kate remarking on Meghan’s departure from the TV series “Suits.” Harry retorted that Meghan now “doesn’t do anything.”
I wonder if the Kate Middleton lines were based on real interviews or pure fiction? The Suits joke was clever though.
Who else is curious about Prince Andrew’s role? That twist feels like the calm before the storm for the family.
The William and Harry banter was spot on. Freddie Meredith really captures that dry royal sibling rivalry perfectly.
