The clash intensified following President Trump’s comments from the Oval Office on Friday, where he labeled Shapiro a “bad governor” who is “close to incompetent.” In response, Shapiro took to social media to counter the allegations, directing his fire at the federal administration’s handling of public health.
“Incompetence is letting measles, a disease that was declared eliminated in 2000, reemerge,” Shapiro wrote on Friday. He further criticized the President for focusing his time on political attacks rather than addressing the health crisis.
