Rescue Operation Launched After Nigerian Military Plane Crashes with 32 Aboard

Emergency responders have launched a search and rescue mission in southern Nigeria following the crash of a military aircraft carrying 32 people. The plane, identified as an ATR-42, went down on Monday in the Igbokoda area of Ondo state.

Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo confirmed that the aircraft was operating a routine mission bound for Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub, when it crashed. The Nigerian Air Force stated that personnel are currently scoping the wreckage site.

The aircraft was transporting 25 passengers and seven crew members. As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding the number of survivors or casualties, nor have they disclosed the extent of the damage to the plane.
