Mia Goth Files for Divorce from Shia LaBeouf After Nearly a Decade Together

LOS ANGELES — Mia Goth has formally requested a divorce from her husband, Shia LaBeouf, ending a nearly decade-long marriage. The petition was filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, stating that the 32-year-old actress and the 40-year-old actor have been separated since July 2025.

The couple originally met in 2012 while working on the film “Nymphomaniac: Vol. II” and tied the knot in 2016. Although they had previously ended their marriage in 2018 before reconciling in 2020, this marks the first time both parties are pursuing a legal dissolution. Their union produced a daughter, now four years old, in 2022.

In the latest filing, Goth is requesting primary legal and physical custody of their child, with visitation rights granted to LaBeouf. She has also asked the court to reject any spousal support claims from either side. As is typical in many American divorces, the grounds cited were irreconcilable differences.

Representatives for both actors did not immediately return requests for comment.

Goth, born Mia Gypsy Mello da Silva Goth in London, recently appeared as Melantho in the summer release “The Odyssey” and took on a dual role in last year’s “Frankenstein.” She is also well known for her work in the horror trilogy consisting of “X,” “Pearl,” and “MaXXXine.”

LaBeouf launched his career as a child star on the Disney Channel series “Even Stevens” and in the 2003 movie “Holes.” He later gained fame for roles in “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull” and the first three films in the “Transformers” franchise directed by Michael Bay.

The divorce filing comes shortly after LaBeouf settled a lawsuit for the second time involving singer and actor FKA Twigs. Twigs, whose birth name is Tahliah Barnett, initially accused LaBeouf of emotional and physical abuse during their relationship, which began while she was working on the semi-autobiographical film “Honey Boy,” written by and starring LaBeouf. While the initial case was dismissed last year, Twigs filed again in March, arguing that nondisclosure clauses in the original settlement violated California law. However, she moved to dismiss the second lawsuit on Monday, noting that LaBeouf agreed to void those provisions.

Previously, in June, LaBeouf was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to charges related to assaulting three individuals outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras celebrations.
