Meta introduced the Muse Charm during its annual Connect event, marking the company’s latest entry into the physical AI wearable market. The device, revealed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a surprise announcement, is designed to house the company’s popular Muse personal AI agent in a pocket-sized totem.
The Muse agent, internally known as ‘Jolly,’ is represented by a cute digital avatar displayed on the gadget’s small screen. Users can carry the device in their pocket or attach it to a keychain. Interaction is handled through a fingerprint sensor located in the corner of the unit, allowing users to initiate voice conversations without needing to unlock a smartphone or open a specific application.
‘We packed the whole Muse experience, including the whole real-time voice and avatar stack, into something that fits on a keychain and is always available to talk to,’ Zuckerberg stated during his keynote address. He further noted that for individuals not using smart glasses, the Charm represents the quickest method to communicate with the AI and receive visual information about their surroundings.
Although the device has been demonstrated to the public, it is not yet available for purchase. Zuckerberg explained that his engineering team is currently working to finalize the internal component layout. He confirmed that the product is on track to be ready for shipping in time for the December holiday season.
The Muse Charm evokes the nostalgic charm of a Tamagotchi, offering a lightweight, personality-driven companion that keeps users consistently linked to Meta’s software ecosystem.
