Meta Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Illegal Use of User Photos for AI Training

A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Meta, accusing the social media giant of unlawfully using personal photographs from its Facebook and Instagram platforms. The legal filing claims that the company harvested this user data to train its artificial intelligence image-generation models and to develop its unreleased facial recognition feature, known as “NameTag.”
