As the Tim Cook era at Apple approaches its conclusion, the company has introduced more experimental designs for the iPhone than in recent years. However, the iPhone 18 Pro sticks closely to its established formula. While it may be overshadowed by the buzz surrounding the rumored iPhone Duo this year, the handset remains as strong as its immediate predecessor.
Visually and functionally, the differences from the iPhone 17 Pro are subtle. The most notable addition is a variable aperture and enhanced manual controls for mobile photographers, addressing long-standing criticism about Apple’s rigid computational photography approach.
The real upgrades lie beneath the surface. The iPhone 18 Pro features a new processor that delivers significantly better performance, longer battery life, and much-improved heat management. These internal enhancements allow for sustained high-speed operations and keep the device noticeably cooler to the touch during intensive tasks.
Battery life improvements are huge. If it lasts two days now, I’m sold, even if the exterior looks exactly like my 17 Pro.
