Federal Judge Denies Request to Block Pentagon Firing of Stars and Stripes Employees

A federal judge on Friday rejected a request to prevent the Pentagon from terminating three Stars and Stripes employees, citing doubts about the validity of their First Amendment arguments. Judge Trevor McFadden issued the ruling shortly after a hearing centered on the dismissals of two of the staff members.

The court found that the employees were unlikely to prevail in their legal challenge, which alleged that their firings for alleged insubordination violated their constitutional rights. The decision allows the Pentagon’s personnel actions to proceed.
