Following the arrival of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in Thailand earlier this week, immediate criticism arose regarding the vessel’s visibly worn appearance. The ship has been operating at sea for approximately nine months, primarily in support of US-Israel military operations directed against Iran.
Addressing these concerns, BBC Verify consulted with military specialists who clarified that while the extended duration of the deployment is uncommon, the resulting physical deterioration is not. Experts emphasized that prolonged operational periods naturally lead to significant wear and tear on naval vessels.
