Missouri Supreme Court Blocks Trump-Backed Congressional Maps

The Missouri Supreme Court issued an order Wednesday blocking congressional district maps that had been backed by Donald Trump, dealing a significant blow to Republican efforts in the ongoing national redistricting battle.

Separately, a Missouri House race has been shaken by the arrest of Republican candidate Thomas Ross on Wednesday. Prosecutors allege that Ross attempted to frame his primary opponent, Louise Secker, for cocaine possession.

According to court documents, Ross allegedly provided a bag of cocaine and Adderall to his former campaign manager, identified only by the initials “CS,” in June. The two reportedly devised a plan for the former manager to hide the drugs in Secker’s purse or vehicle.
