Liberal parliamentarian Andrew Hastie has declared his intention to pursue his dispute with One Nation leader Pauline Hanson to its conclusion, simultaneously suggesting that fellow One Nation members Barnaby Joyce and David Farley may be experiencing “buyers’ remorse” regarding their affiliation with the party.
On Sunday, the former SAS captain reiterated his characterization of Hanson as a “lying coward.” The renewed hostility follows Hanson’s continued refusal to remove an animated video that labels Hastie a “traitor.” This content became a focal point after Hastie was compelled to provide testimony during the unsuccessful defamation proceedings initiated by former soldier Ben Roberts-Smith.
While Hastie targets Hanson, he also cast doubt on the commitment of Joyce and Farley to their new political home, implying regret over their decision to join One Nation. In response, Joyce has publicly denied any such regret, rejecting the notion that he wishes to reverse his political alignment.
