Google announced on Wednesday that it will not make its most advanced artificial intelligence model available to the general public. Instead, the company is releasing Gemini 4 Argon exclusively to a carefully screened group of cybersecurity professionals.
The decision aims to mitigate the risk of hackers exploiting the model’s capabilities for malicious purposes.
Koray Kavukcuoglu, Google’s chief AI architect, addressed the strategy in a blog post announcing the release. He stated that safely rolling out frontier-level capabilities requires a phased approach rather than immediate broad availability.
