Organisers of the Glastonbury Festival have confirmed that tickets for the 2027 event will go on sale in October, with prices rising to a record £408 per ticket. The fee includes a £5 booking charge, marking an increase of £29.50 compared to the 2025 event.
The festival, which features over 100 stages, is scheduled to take place from 23 to 27 June 2027. This follows a fallow year in 2026, during which no event was held after Olivia Rodrigo headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2025 alongside The 1975 and Neil Young.
While official headliners have not yet been revealed, speculation is already mounting. Rumours suggest potential acts include Harry Styles, Fontaines DC, Taylor Swift, and Stevie Wonder. However, festival co-organiser Emily Eavis recently dismissed reports linking Madonna to the lineup, stating firmly that the pop icon is not performing.
Tickets for the event have historically sold out within an hour, prompting organisers to maintain strict entry protocols. Fans must be registered in advance to combat touting and participate in an automated queuing system on the day of sale. General admission tickets will become available at 09:00 BST on Sunday, 4 October, while packages including coach travel go on sale two days earlier at 18:00 BST on Thursday, 1 October.
The new price point breaks the £400 barrier for the first time, continuing a broader trend across the UK festival industry. BBC News analysis indicates that the cost of attending major British festivals has risen above inflation over the past decade. Since 2013, Glastonbury tickets have increased by approximately £85, representing a 30% rise in real terms.
Other festivals have also seen significant hikes; Parklife tickets surged by roughly £69 (71%), while Reading and Leeds rose by about £40 (14%). Despite these trends, Reading and Leeds maintained their 2025 pricing of £325 over the weekend.
Eavis acknowledged the financial pressures facing organisers, citing increased energy and infrastructure costs, post-Brexit labour shortages, and the lingering economic impact of the pandemic. In 2023, she described it as a “challenging time” but emphasized efforts to minimise price jumps. For 2027, Eavis hinted that three other headliners are confirmed and expressed excitement about the upcoming lineup.
