‘DJ Ahmet’ Leads Adriatic Awards Nominations With Seven nods

The Adriatic Film and TV Awards have announced their 2026 nominations, with Georgi M. Unkovski’s drama “DJ Ahmet” securing the top spot in the film categories. The movie, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it secured both the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision, received seven nominations.

“Yugo Florida,” directed by Vladimir Tagić, follows closely behind with six nominations. The field includes “Wind, Talk to Me,” “Mother,” and “God Will Not Help,” each earning five nods. The awards honor leading productions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia.

In the television category, “Black Sun” and “The Hollow” are tied for the most nominations with four each. “Komar” and “Shame” received three nominations apiece.

The nominees were selected by a vote of more than 800 members comprising the Film and TV Academy of the Adriatic Region, an organization established by the Sarajevo Film Festival, Auteur Film Festival Belgrade, and Zagreb Film Festival. The winners will be revealed during the ceremony on Oct. 24 in Tivat, Montenegro, at Porto Montenegro.

Among the leading actors nominated are Arif Jakup and Dora Akan Zlatanova for “DJ Ahmet,” while Hana Selimović and Andrija Kuzmanović were nominated for their roles in “Yugo Florida.” In the film categories, Hana Jušić received dual nominations for directing and acting in “God Will Not Help,” and Teona Strugar Mitevska was nominated for directing “Mother.”

Key film nominations include Outstanding Debut Film, where Unkovski’s “DJ Ahmet,” Đorđević’s “Wind, Talk to Me,” Tagić’s “Yugo Florida,” and others were recognized. Notable TV acting nominations feature Dragan Bjelogrlić and Nina Janković for “Black Sun,” along with Snežana Vidović for “The Hollow” and Lejla Hakalović for “Komar.”
