Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is set to conclude with its upcoming third season, Variety has confirmed. The series finale completes a three-season run for the Disney+ property starring Charlie Cox as the blind attorney and vigilante.
The final season recently wrapped filming and is currently in post-production. It is slated to debut on Disney+ in 2027. Additionally, co-creator and showrunner Dario Scardapane has departed the project, marking the end of his involvement with the franchise.
The decision was initially reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Cox first portrayed the character in the original Netflix series, which aired from 2015 to 2018 and established the foundation for Marvel’s street-level universe. That iteration spawned spinoffs such as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, culminating in the crossover event The Defenders.
Disney+ revived the concept as Daredevil: Born Again in 2025, reuniting key cast members including Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin; Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page; Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson; and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.
Season 2 began reintroducing former Netflix alumni, featuring Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and a cameo by Mike Colter as Luke Cage. During the production of Season 3, leaked images revealed Finn Jones returning as Iron Fist alongside Ritter and Colter. The trio is expected to unite against Kingpin, who has lost his position as mayor of New York City within the storyline.
The season three narrative continues the tension established at the end of the previous season, where Matt Murdock’s Daredevil identity was exposed and he found himself incarcerated.
Three seasons was a solid run, but losing Scardapane right at the end feels like a missed opportunity.
Wait, Kingpin isn’t even mayor anymore in S3? That’s a huge shift from how the previous seasons played out.
Really hoping the finale delivers a satisfying conclusion after all the rebuilding since the Netflix days.
