Correction Issued for High-Resolution Mouse Brain Atlas Study in Nature

A correction has been published in the journal Nature regarding the article “A mouse brain stereotaxic topographic atlas with isotropic 1-μm resolution,” originally released online on July 2, 2025. The amendment, issued on September 7, 2026, addresses specific typographical and transcriptional errors identified in the original publication.

According to the correction notice, an error was found in Extended Data Figure 2, where the genetic marker “Exm1-Cre” was incorrectly printed and has been amended to read “Emx1-Cre.” Additionally, the Source Data associated with Extended Data Figure 4e contained an incorrect Dice score for the isocortex region within dataset 210692.

The authors also corrected the sample size for the medial habenula in the figure legend, changing the notation from n = 19 to n = 20. Furthermore, a technical specification in the Methods section under “Whole-head dataset acquisition” was updated. The voxel resolution was corrected from 0.32 to the precise value of 0.325 × 0.325 × 1 μm³, aligning the text with the data reported in the Results section.

The corrected HTML and PDF versions of the article are now available. For transparency, the original Extended Data Figure 4 is retained in the accompanying Supplementary Information.

  1. Wait, so is it 0.32 or 0.325? The correction notes say one thing but the original text said another. Hope this doesn’t skew replication efforts.

  2. At least they caught that voxel typo. Precision matters when you’re claiming isotropic 1-micron resolution.
