Apple TV Service Remains Offline as Other Platforms Recover

Apple TV Service Remains Offline as Other Platforms Recover

Apple TV users experiencing difficulties accessing the streaming platform are not alone, as the service has been non-operational since the afternoon of September 30. The outage began at approximately 4:43 PM, preventing subscribers from viewing current content such as new episodes of Ted Lasso.

According to reports from 9to5Mac, the disruption was part of a broader incident affecting multiple Apple services. The company’s System Status page indicated outages across the iOS and Mac App Stores, Fitness+, Music, and purchase channels for subscriptions and AppleCare+. However, these services were restored within several hours, leaving Apple TV as the sole remaining inaccessible service.

In its service notices, Apple attributed the disruptions to scheduled maintenance, stating that services “may be unavailable” during these updates. It remains unclear why the Apple TV platform requires a longer recovery period compared to the other systems, or if additional technical issues are contributing to the extended downtime.

  1. Scheduled maintenance should not take this long. Something feels off about Apple’s outage handling this time around.

  2. Really hoping this isn’t another Ted Lasso season two cliffhanger I have to wait weeks for. What is going on over there?

  3. So frustrating that Music and App Store are back but the main streaming service is still down. Hope they fix it soon.
