Owners of Amazon’s latest e-readers are raising concerns about a light leak defect that becomes noticeable when using dark mode. The newest entry-level devices feature a modern flush bezel design, offering a streamlined look that works well in bright environments but struggles when ambient lighting is low.
According to reports, some users are observing shadows along the screen edges or even seeing the underlying LED strips directly. The problem impacts both the plastic and aluminum versions of the device across all available colors. While minor edge glow may be an inherent trade-off of combining front-lit screens with a flush display, the visibility of internal components suggests a more significant issue with the new construction.
