All Blacks Dethrone Wallabies 50-19 to Retain Bledisloe Cup at Eden Park

New Zealand has successfully defended the Bledisloe Cup for a record 24th year after delivering a commanding 50-19 performance against Australia at Eden Park on Saturday.

The first half was a tightly contested affair, with both sides trading two tries each. New Zealand held a narrow three-point lead at the break, thanks to second-row scores from Peter Lakai and Tupou Vaa’i, while Australia responded through full-back Tom Wright and number eight Harry Wilson.

The dynamic shifted dramatically after the interval as the All Blacks unleashed their attacking power. Five additional tries were scored in the second period, brought in by scrum-half Cam Roigard, hooker Codie Taylor, wingers Leroy Carter, Josh Moorby, and Will Jordan. Fly-half Damian McKenzie contributed six conversions and a penalty to solidify the margin.

The victory ensures New Zealand remains unbeaten at Eden Park since 1994 and extends Australia’s drought of holding the trophy, which dates back to 2002. Despite the defeat, the series result guarantees New Zealand retains the cup regardless of the outcome in the upcoming away fixture.

The two nations will meet again next Saturday, October 17, in Sydney. The return clash will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event starting at 6am BST, marking the final chapter of this year’s Bledisloe Cup series.

  1. Does anyone else think this win feels hollow? Australia still has one game left to prove they aren’t this bad.

  2. I’m surprised Australia kept it close for a half. Their forwards looked competitive until NZ pulled away.

  3. Twenty-four consecutive years! The All Blacks’ dominance at Eden Park is absolutely terrifying for the Wallabies.
