Chocolate Eyeball Candy Recalled Due to Undeclared Milk Allergen

A New Jersey-based confectionery manufacturer is issuing a recall for chocolate eyeball candies distributed through major retailers including Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Sierra Trading Post. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported that the products contain undeclared milk allergens.

The recall affects various packaging under the “Crystal Temptations” brand and was distributed across Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming. According to the FDA, individuals with severe milk sensitivities or allergies could experience serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the product.

No reports of illness have been filed as of August 31, the date the recall notice was published. The issue was initially identified by an analyst monitoring TJ Maxx, who noticed the packaging failed to disclose the presence of milk. Subsequent investigation attributed the labeling error to a temporary breakdown in production and packaging processes.

Consumers who purchased the affected candy are advised to destroy it immediately. Refunds are available only through Crystal Temptations; stores where the product was sold will not process returns. To request a refund, customers must contact the company at 1-201-246-7990 and provide proof of purchase.
