Local authorities confirmed on Sunday that two individuals were killed and an oil refinery was struck in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that Russian defenses intercepted more than 1,600 drones since Saturday, including 450 targeted specifically at the capital. The targeting of Russian oil facilities by Kyiv has previously contributed to fuel shortages and price hikes within Russia. Meanwhile, violence continued on the eastern front in the Russian-occupied Kherson region, where a drone strike on a bus killed two people, including an election official, according to the Russian state news agency RIA.
In a separate development, Ukrainian authorities reported that four people were killed in a Russian drone attack in the Kyiv region. The casualties include a mother and her two 3-year-old children, as well as a girl who died in a hospital after being injured in another district. The Fastiv district, located southwest of Kyiv, also sustained damage to residential and industrial buildings.
