CFP Backs Conference Bans on NFL Players Returning to College

Leaders of the College Football Playoff (CFP) have voiced their backing for conference mandates that bar athletes from rejoining college squads if they have previously played in the National Football League.

In a recent declaration, CFP executives stopped short of introducing any new eligibility or participation regulations at the playoff level. Instead, they released a statement emphasizing that they “strongly support” the stances adopted by various conferences that have moved to block former NFL players from returning to collegiate competition.
