On September 6, YouTuber Nicholas Light released a video titled “My Channel will be Deleted Today,” warning subscribers that his content was at risk of being removed from the platform. In the 13-minute upload, Light alleged he was targeted by Remove Your Media, a company he claims has filed “thousands upon thousands of false copyright strikes” against creators.
Light directed his criticism at Remove Your Media CEO Eric Green, accusing him of acting as a troll who systematically targets content creators whose videos feature or discuss popular anime series such as Bleach and One Piece.
Eric Green should be ashamed. Targeting reaction channels is exactly how the platform dies. Hope he gets sanctioned.
Has anyone actually verified the ‘thousands’ claim? Seems like a lot, but where is the hard evidence?
I had no idea this was happening on such a large scale. It feels like a power grab against small creators.
This is incredibly concerning. If RYM is mass filing false strikes, YouTube needs to intervene immediately.
