Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has pushed back against claims by US President Donald Trump that a ceasefire regarding energy infrastructure has been agreed upon between Kyiv and Moscow. The disagreement emerged after Trump announced the deal on social media without providing specific details or context.
A senior Ukrainian official reportedly informed the Financial Times that Kyiv had received no prior information regarding the alleged agreement. Highlighting the discrepancy, the official noted that repair crews were actively restoring electricity and water supplies in the capital immediately following recent Russian strikes.
“Nobody has heard [of the ceasefire],” the official stated, emphasizing that Ukrainian forces are still dealing with the aftermath of active attacks rather than observing a pause in hostilities.
