The United States is preparing to authorize a $2.8 billion arms sale to Israel, according to reports from US media outlets on Tuesday. The transaction involves the delivery of 40,000 one-ton bombs, marking one of the largest munitions packages sold in recent history.

As detailed by The Washington Post, the package is financed using American taxpayer funds and includes some of the most powerful explosives in Western military arsenals. The shipment comprises 20,000 MK-84 bombs, 20,000 BLU-117 munitions, and 20,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads.
