US Greenland-Linked Stocks Soar on Security Pact with Denmark

Shares of United States-listed companies with exposure to Greenland skyrocketed in premarket trading on Monday following the announcement of a new security agreement between the U.S. and Denmark regarding the Arctic territory. The rally was driven by a pact aimed at expanding American military capabilities in the region while preventing rival nations from establishing a foothold there.

Greenland Energy led the gains, surging more than 165%, while Greenland Mines climbed over 110% and Critical Metals Corp rose nearly 26%. The agreements are scheduled to be formally signed later this week during the United Nations General Assembly.

Under the terms of the deal, the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland will cooperate to develop a significant military presence on the island. This move follows months of pressure from President Donald Trump, who had previously threatened to annex the self-governing Danish territory, arguing that Greenland is vital to American national security.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump declared that the United States would “FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America.” He further asserted that the agreement would not cost the U.S. anything and that Washington would “immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland.”

While specific details of the agreement remain undisclosed, local and national officials moved quickly to address concerns from the public. Greenlandic and Danish leaders emphasized over the weekend that the pact would respect Greenland’s right to self-determination and the sovereignty of the Danish kingdom.

“It is joyous that we are about to make an agreement that will ensure and strengthen the security of Greenland, the Kingdom of Denmark, the United States and the Western Alliance,” Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said in a statement. “The agreement recognizes Greenland’s interests and our place in the international cooperation. It is to the benefit of us all,” he added.
