Widespread travel chaos has continued to hamper passengers across the United Kingdom following a significant technical failure within the national air traffic control system. The incident, which impacted major hubs including London Gatwick and Heathrow, as well as Manchester and Birmingham airports, began on Tuesday afternoon and has left a ripple effect on flight schedules extending into Wednesday.
Authorities announced the technical issue shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday. While the problem was reportedly resolved approximately three hours later, the damage to scheduling had already been done. By the time the system was restored, hundreds of flights had been canceled, creating severe knock-on delays for travelers not only throughout Britain but also at destination airports abroad.
