Two Killed in Israeli Strike on Gaza City Vehicle

An Israeli air strike targeting a vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City killed at least two people and wounded 13 others on Sunday, according to local medics. Health officials reported that the bodies of the deceased were dismembered and have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying them.

Visual evidence verified by Al Jazeera showed the aftermath of the strike, depicting a vehicle that was severely mangled with its roof and doors torn away. The Israeli military stated that the attack was aimed at two Hamas fighters.

This incident marks the latest in a series of near-daily Israeli attacks in the besieged territory since a ceasefire was agreed upon between Israel and Hamas last October. Since the United States-brokered truce took effect, more than 1,300 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza, according to health authorities.

Hamas has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement and obstructing a peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. The plan reportedly includes an eventual Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza enclave and the disarmament of Hamas.

During a visit to Ireland on Saturday, Trump defended his administration’s handling of the conflict, stating that his government had “put out the fire” and secured the release of all hostages. He claimed there is “very little happening right now in Gaza” and described the current situation as having “a lot of good relationships taking place,” adding, “I think we’ve done a great job.”

According to local authorities, Israel’s military campaign, which began in October 2023, has killed at least 73,669 people in Gaza, with the majority of victims being women and children.

  1. The graphic details about the bodies are horrifying. Why does the world keep watching this unfold without stopping it?

  2. I wonder if those ‘two Hamas fighters’ were actually in the car, or if the narrative is shifting again like it always does.

  3. Trump says there is very little happening? With over 1,300 dead since the truce, I have to question what reality he is living in.
