Emergency services responded to an incident at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham on Friday evening, where three individuals were injured on a fairground ride. South Yorkshire Police confirmed that two children, aged 11 and 13, and a 21-year-old woman were among those hurt.
The fairground was forced to close early following the event. Blyth Lane was temporarily closed between Muglet Lane and Victoria Road to ensure the safe evacuation of attendees, though the road has since reopened.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances and three rapid response vehicles to the scene around 18:50 BST. The two younger patients were transported to Sheffield Children’s Hospital for treatment, while the woman was also taken to a medical facility. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific nature or severity of the injuries sustained by any of the victims.
Glad the road reopened, but the early closure must have been stressful for families who traveled all the way to Maltby.
