President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Russia will provide diesel fuel to the United States following what he described as a productive conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November,” Trump stated.
The agreement marks a significant development in energy trade between the two nations, aimed at addressing supply concerns in both domestic and international markets.
Interesting pivot after all that rhetoric. Hope this doesn’t just result in price hikes while we pay a premium for the privilege.
Diesel from Russia? Sure, why not. Anything to keep gas prices down ahead of the midterms.
I thought sanctions were still in place. How does this deal actually work right now?
