TIME Appoints Mike Duffy as Managing Director for Asia-Pacific

TIME has announced the appointment of Mike Duffy as its new Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, a role he assumes starting September 21. Based in London, Duffy will report to Damian Douglas and join the publication’s global commercial leadership team.

In a staff memo released Monday, Viktoria Degtar, TIME’s Chief Business Officer, highlighted the strategic importance of the Asia-Pacific region to the company’s future expansion. She noted that Duffy’s mandate is to build on existing momentum by leading commercial operations across the region, expanding TIME’s presence through its various platforms, and cultivating enduring partnerships.

Duffy brings over 17 years of experience in developing strategic partnerships across international markets. He most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer of The Observer. Prior to his departure, he spent six years at TIME, where he ultimately held the position of Vice President of Partnerships and Head of EMEA.

During his previous tenure, Duffy played a key role in scaling TIME’s international business. His achievements included launching the inaugural TIME100 AI Impact Awards in Dubai, expanding the TIME100 Impact Awards into new territories, and spearheading the launch of TIME100 Africa in Rwanda.

“I’m incredibly excited to return to TIME,” Duffy said. “The six years I previously spent here were among the most rewarding of my career. Asia-Pacific is producing the next generation of global leaders, companies, ideas and cultural movements, and TIME is uniquely positioned to convene the people shaping the region.”

Duffy added that he sees significant potential to deepen the brand’s footprint and create ambitious new collaborations in the area. Degtar concluded her message by inviting staff to welcome Duffy back to the organization.
