The creators of the long-running animated series South Park have announced that the show’s next season will be titled South America, a move widely interpreted as a satirical reference to President Donald Trump’s recent attempts to rename various American geographical locations.
In a statement released on social media, Matt Stone and Trey Parker wrote, “Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA.” The accompanying graphic depicted the show’s iconic sign with the word “Park” replaced by “America.”
Is this really about Trump, or just another corporate sponsorship deal with Google?
Hilarious timing! I love how they flipped the script on the current political climate.
