Bay Area lettering artist Jesscia Hische knew that when she took a freelance gig to design the [M logo](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/09/introducing-muse-personal-ai-agent/) for Meta’s new AI assistant [Muse](https://www.wired.com/story/muse-creates-detailed-profiles-of-all-your-friends-and-family/), it was bound to make some people angry. “AI is such a third rail, and Meta is such a third rail,” she tells me.
